ABSTRACT:

The TAPPI Recovery Boiler Subcommittee has sponsored a survey to determine industry consensus on the types, extent, and frequency of kraft recovery boiler inspection and audit program. The survey form was distributed to the representatives of the API Recovery Boiler Committee. By May 1984, 40 mills had responded, representing 25 companies and 70 separate recovery boiler installations. Figure 1 shows the total number of mills and boilers of each manufacturer. Figure 2 shows the boiler sizes and year of installation.
